At Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, child life specialists are professionally trained and certified members of the health care team, with college degrees in child development, education, or therapeutic recreation.
Child Life's goals are to:
These goals are accomplished through providing therapeutic play and developmentally appropriate activities for patients; educating and preparing children for medical procedures; and serving as a resource for parents and other professionals regarding child development and hospitalization issues.
