The Mission of the Division of Human Genetics is to improve human health through excellence in genetics applied to clinical practice, education and research. The Division of Human Genetics at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center offers comprehensive, multidisciplinary services including:
- Genetic evaluation, genetic counseling and case management by board certified clinical geneticists, genetic counselors and advanced practice nurses for a wide variety of genetic conditions and risk factors
- State-of-the-art genetic testing by CAP and CLIA certified Cytogenetics and Molecular Genetics Laboratories offering comprehensive interpretation of test results by nationally recognized experts
- Nationally recognized clinical training programs for physicans, PhD's, nurses and genetic counselors
- Internationally recognized basic science and translational research programs and postdoctoral opportunities directed toward advancing the understanding of complex genetic disorders including deafness, Parkinson disease as well as pathogenetic, preclinical and clinical trials of new therapies for selected lysosomal storage diseases.
