About Cincinnati Children's

  • Community Benefit at Cincinnati Children’s

Hospitals have a responsibility to improve the health and quality of life for children and families in the communities we serve. At Cincinnati Children’s, we view community benefit – programs and activities that provide treatment or promote health, medical knowledge and healing – as a major part of our role. The community benefit activities we pursue reflect our vision “to be the leader in improving child health.”

We bring our community benefit goals to life through our initiatives to develop solutions to this region’s greatest health problems, including infant mortality, obesity, preventable injuries and asthma. We demonstrate our commitment in activities such as Cover the Uninsured Week, which seeks to improve access to care for everyone. We establish partnerships, such as with the Center for Closing the Health Gap, which works to eliminate health disparities among minorities, and with the United Way of Greater Cincinnati.

Cincinnati Children’s delivered $503.5 million in community benefit services in fiscal 2011, up from $377 million in 2010. Learn more about a few of our programs and efforts inside this section of our website.
