About Cincinnati Children's

  • Connecting with the Neighborhoods We Serve

The Office of Community Relations at Cincinnati Children’s plays an active role in the communities where our neighborhood locations are based. We partner with six key groups in each neighborhood:

    • Schools
    • Local government
    • Neighborhood civic associations
    • Libraries
    • Churches
    • Recreation centers

Our projects with these groups vary depending on their needs and capabilities, but our main goal – to be the leader in improving child health – guides all of our activities.

    + Neighborhood Engagement

Cincinnati Children’s is deeply involved with improving the communities we serve, from our commitment to making Uptown a safe and attractive neighborhood to supporting youth employment programs in Avondale.  We play a visible role at neighborhood fairs and festivals to educate our communities about child health and wellness.  And for a more hands-on experience, families can attend one of our speaker series programs at their local library to learn more about a specific community health issue.

+ Engagement with Chambers of Commerce

As the city’s fourth largest employer, Cincinnati Children’s supports our staff and the communities we serve by being a leader in business advocacy. Our memberships in local and regional chambers of commerce and business organizations support economic development, supplier inclusion and workforce diversity. The memberships keep us connected to community business leaders and help us enhance our community partnerships.

    + Faith-Based Initiative

Cincinnati Children’s understands and honors the role that faith plays in the lives of the patients and families we serve. Our faith-based initiative goal aims to strengthen existing ties with the community and more directly involve community clergy in the life and work of the hospital.

We connect community clergy with our Division of Pastoral Care to make it easier to navigate our campus and use our pastoral resources. This initiative helps community clergy to serve their congregations, and provides a channel through which we can improve our policies and programming to better serve the spiritual needs of our patients and their families.
