About Cincinnati Children's

  • Community Partnerships

The Office of Community Relations at Cincinnati Children’s engages in community partnerships. We focus on communities where our neighborhood locations are based, and we work to partner with key stakeholder groups, such as schools and local governments.

Our community partnerships take the form of presentations to stakeholders, health information sessions, meetings with schools and libraries, and financial support of neighborhood events, fairs and festivals.

    + Adopt-a-School

Cincinnati Children’s partners with Rockdale Academy for our Adopt-a-School program. Hospital volunteers work with the academy’s nearly 500 pre-K through eighth-grade students, encouraging them to make healthy lifestyle choices. By providing health education and positive role models, the volunteers help students lay the foundation for healthy futures.

    + Earned Income Tax Credit

The Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) Program at Cincinnati Children’s offers free tax filing assistance for employees, patients’ families and retirees with household incomes of less than $35,000 for a single person and $50,000 for a married couple. Since 2003, the program has prepared and submitted more than 1,000 e-files.

    + Health Careers Exploring Program

The Cincinnati Children’s Health Careers Exploring Program is a partnership between the medical center and the Dan Beard Council of the Boy Scouts of America. The primary goal is to expose adolescents ages 15-18 to the healthcare environment. Students connect with Cincinnati Children’s employees from nearly 25 departments to learn about a variety of healthcare careers, including nursing, radiology, Child Life and surgery.  During each session, students attend seminars, tour departments and participate in experiential hands-on activities.
