Alvin Crawford, MD
Alvin Crawford, MD, is a renaissance man: A champion tennis player. A musician who blows a mean saxophone. A retired Captain in the US Navy. An internationally honored pediatric orthopaedic surgeon. A role model for philanthropy at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.
Dr. Crawford has led the Division of Orthopaedics at Cincinnati Children's since its inception in 1977. He has been a pioneer in developing less invasive surgeries and medical procedures for the children under his care.
Over five years ago, Dr. Crawford began developing a plan to carry on his legacy. His vision was to create an endowed chair and establish the Cincinnati Orthopaedic Research and Education Center for Children (CORECC) to expand the research and education programs of the Division of Orthopaedics. Dr. Crawford has made a substantial personal gift to establish CORECC and is actively working with the Department of Development in raising additional funds to make his vision a reality.
Cincinnati Children's is honored to work with Dr. Crawford in establishing the Alvin H. Crawford Chair in Pediatric Orthopaedics. The person who holds this chair will direct the research efforts for CORECC, carrying on Dr. Crawford's vision for the future of pediatric orthopaedic surgery.
