2006 Financial Report
Dear Friends,
The goal of the leadership team of any company in any industry is to have the foresight to identify an outstanding strategy to guide future efforts and achievements, and to implement that strategy with superior execution. In 2005, Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center developed a new strategic plan that laid out a road map for transforming pediatric health care through the pursuit of demonstrably better medical outcomes, patient and family experiences and value. In 2006 we began implementing that plan. And while we know this will be a long, long journey, it is apparent that our initial steps have been sound and well directed.
In fiscal 2006, demand for our services and products reached new levels – locally, regionally, nationally and even internationally. Our leadership position in executing an ambitious and courageous transformational strategy has been broadly recognized. We are fundamentally committed to the business principle that improving the quality of our services and the experiences of our customers will drive down costs and redefine perceptions of value in health
care. We are aggressively investing in the people, physical resources, and improved processes and technology that can deliver this higher value at reduced operational costs.
The execution of our strategic plan is a marathon that we have embraced. Our fiscal 2006 results show that we can pursue this long journey at a pace that is ambitious and demanding. We owe this to our supporters; we owe this to the children we serve.
