Bio
Joseph E. Levinson, MD, is a Professor Emeritus of Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Cincinnati. He is one of the renowned pioneers of pediatric rheumatology.
Between 1945 and 1947 Dr. Levinson served as a surgeon in the Army. Since 1961 his professional focus was the treatment of children with rheumatic diseases. He was Director of the Division of Pediatric Rheumatology at Cincinnati Children's between 1974 and 1978. Since his retirement as division head, he continues to be active member of the division and a community advocate.

- Greater Cincinnati Researcher of the Year for Research on Disabling Medical Disorders, 1981. A traveling award first presented in the Inter national Year of Disabled Persons (1981) by the Cincinnati Coalition of Persons with Disabilities and by Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Southwest Ohio. Presented in recognition of neuromusculoskeletal research efforts.
