Dr. Hor's clinical subspecialty interests include cardiac magnetic resonance imaging, echocardiography (TTE, TEE and Fetal) and congenital heart disease. Dr. Hor's academic research interests relates to cardiac magnetic resonance imaging and echocardiography and its application for analysis of cardiac strain and synchrony in Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, heart failure and congenital heart disease.
He has given presentations at both regional and national meetings relating to his basic science research, fetal pulmonary vein assessment in hypoplastic left heart syndrome and cardiac MRI assessment of strain in Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
Dr. Hor is a native of Kampong Chom, Cambodia and moved to the United States at age 8 years. He obtained his undergraduate degree in both Microbiology and Chemistry from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and completed his medical degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He completed his pediatric internship and residency at the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. Dr. Hor completed his pediatric cardiology fellowship at Cincinnati Children's where he spent 14 months with Drs. James and Robbins researching the effects of alpha myosin heavy chain transgenesis in heart failure using an ischemic model of cardiomyopathy. He also completed an additional year in advance cardiac imaging at Cincinnati Children's.
Dr. Hor is an active member of the cardiology community. He is a member of the American Society of Echocardiography, the American Heart Association and Council of Cardiovascular Disease in the Young.
