Bio
Raised on the West Coast, G. Randall Bond, MD, graduated magna cum laude from the University of California at Santa Barbara with a degree in Economics, 1976. He then attended St. Louis University School of Medicine, graduating in 1980. After a residency in Pediatrics at Cardinal Glennon Hospital for Children, he joined the faculty at St. Louis University, serving clinically in the Emergency Department of Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital. In 1985, he left that position to serve as the sole physician for a small hospital in rural Africa for a one-year period.
Upon his return to the United States, Dr. Bond re-entered academia at the University of Southern California-Los Angeles County Medical Center. He then pursued and completed a fellowship in medical toxicology at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix, AZ, 1989. The next ten years of his academic career were spent in the Departments of Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine at the University of Virginia and as Medical Director of the Blue Ridge Poison Center.
In 1999, Dr. Bond moved to Cincinnati, Ohio. He is currently a Professor at the University of Cincinnati, based primarily at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, and is the Medical Director of the Cincinnati Drug and Poison Information Center. His research interests include decontamination, acetaminophen toxicity and the epidemiology of drug abuse.
He is board certified in Medical Toxicology, Pediatrics, Emergency Medicine and Pediatric Emergency Medicine. He is President of the American Academy of Clinical Toxicology and is on the Editorial Board of Clinical Toxicology.
