Hispanic Advisory Committee Vision, Mission and Values
Introduction
Hispanic Advisory Committee
Members of the Hispanic Advisory Committee meet at Cincinnati Children's.
The Hispanic Advisory Committee is a standing committee of the Family Advisory Council.
At least one member of the Hispanic Advisory Committee shall be a member of the Family Advisory Council and shall give an update report to the full Family Advisory Council during monthly business meetings. This update shall include a summary of all current projects, assistance from Family Advisory Council members when appropriate, and suggestions for further progress.
Any member of the Family Advisory Council is welcome to attend Hispanic Advisory Committee meetings.
Hispanic Advisory Committee Vision
- To be the leader within Cincinnati Children's in advocating on behalf of Spanish-speaking patients and families who utilize Cincinnati Children's programs and services.
- To function as a liaison between Cincinnati Children's and the Hispanic community.
Hispanic Advisory Committee Mission
- To identify, prioritize and solve problems that may result in barriers to programs and services of Cincinnati Children's for Spanish-speaking patients and families.
- To function as a team of family members and health care advocates on behalf of the Spanish-speaking community, for programs and services within Cincinnati Children's.
Hispanic Advisory Committee Values
As members of the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center Hispanic Advisory Committee, we believe:
- In the value and uniqueness of every Hispanic patient and family.
- That the Hispanic family should have meaningful access to all programs and services within Cincinnati Children's.
- That through tolerance, education and problem-solving, we can help make the health care environment of Cincinnati Children's more welcoming and culturally competent.
- That the Hispanic Advisory Committee is an important link between families and services within Cincinnati Children's and the community at-large.
Hispanic Advisory Committee Members
Hispanic Advisory Committee members are selected from the community and within Cincinnati Children's. While Hispanic patients and family members are always welcome, Cincinnati Children's staff that have a genuine interest in upholding the vision, mission and values of the committee are also encouraged to attend. A roster of active members is available.
Hispanic Advisory Committee Achievements
A listing of achievements of this committee will be kept current and available. Periodic announcements of committee progress will be sent to Marketing and Communications for distribution.
