The vision of Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is to be the leader in improving child health.
Vision
At Cincinnati Children's, the Family Advisory Council's vision is to be the leader in advocating and teaching the practice of family-centered care.
Mission
The Family Advisory Council's mission is to promote the concepts of family-centered care, to advise Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center administration, faculty, and staff on patient needs and medical center priorities from a family perspective, and to educate and empower families about their role in their child's care.
Values
Members of the Cincinnati Children's Family Advisory Council believe:
1. In the inherent value and uniqueness of every child.
2. The family should be the primary advocate in the life of the child.
3. In honoring and respecting the diverse nature of all families.
4. The eight core concepts of family-centered care are mutually beneficial to both families and health-care providers. These are: Respect, Family Strengths, Choice, Information, Support, Flexibility, Collaboration and Empowerment.
5. Dynamic partnerships between family members and medical center staff will act as a catalyst toward perfection in the delivery of health care for children and families.
6. The Family Advisory Council is a vital link between Cincinnati Children's and the community.
