Flow
At Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center we gather system level measures that reflect the overall quality and safety of our clinical care delivery system. These measures represent dimensions of flow:
| Percent of patients who are delayed in transferring to a patient room |
July - September 2009 |
- This measure assesses timeliness of the transfer of patients from the Emergency Department (ED), Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) to regular medical-surgical beds on our inpatient units.
- This measure reflects the calculated experiences of the patients from the ED, PICU and PACU and is the percentage of ED patients waiting 1 hour or more for admission, patients waiting more than 2 hours for a transfer from the PICU to a regular patient unit and patients waiting 20 minutes or more in the PACU for transfer to a regular patient unit.
