H1N1 Influenza Virus (Swine Flu)
With the recent emergence of H1N1 influenza (Swine Flu), it is now more important than ever to take steps to keep your child healthy and to do your part to help prevent or limit the spread of H1N1 in your community. The World Health Organization has declared a worldwide Phase 6 pandemic due to the rapid outbreak of the H1N1 influenza virus. Vaccine studies are underway at Cincinnati Children’s, and seven other centers nationwide, to evaluate the safety of and the body’s response to two experimental vaccines to protect against the 2009 H1N1 influenza virus.
