Grief Education Seminar to Focus on Words that Hurt
CINCINNATI -- Parents who have lost a child know how upsetting remarks that people make can be. "You're young, you can still have other kids," they say. Or, "It's been three months already. Don't you think it's time you got on with your life?"
Parents can't stop people from saying such things, but they can be prepared to respond. As part of its "Griefwise" series of grief education seminars, Children's Hospital Medical Center of Cincinnati will present "People Say the Darndest Things!" from 10-11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 27, 1999, for parents and adult relatives who have lost a child.
The program will take place at the Drake Center's conference center, 151 West Galbraith Road. Presenting will be Bonnie Crawford, M.S.W., L.I.S.W., social worker for StarShine: the Hospice Of Children's Hospital Medical Center, and Paul Beckman, a chaplain in Cincinnati Children's Pastoral Care Department.
Reservations are requested but not required. To make reservations or for more information, call 513-636-8223.
