International Adoption Center Workshop October 20
CINCINNATI -- The International Adoption Center at Children's Hospital Medical Center of Cincinnati will present a workshop on Saturday, October 20, to introduce families and healthcare professionals to massage techniques and developmental issues. The workshop is intended to ease the transition and bonding process for those who adopt internationally.
"Nurturing the Internationally Adopted Child: Massage Therapy, Sensory Integration and Developmental Interventions" will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Cincinnati Children's. Those who attend the seminar will learn to describe and demonstrate therapeutic massage techniques, describe activities to promote normal developmental skills in internationally adopted children, and understand how to maximize appropriate sensory responses.
Speakers include two licensed massage therapists from Cincinnati Children's and a Cincinnati Children's occupational therapist.
Cost of the workshop is $25 a person and $45 a couple. To register or for more information, call 513-636-0127.
