Blue Ash Airport Days Preview at Cincinnati Children's
CINCINNATI -- Air crew members from the Texas T-Cart's will be visiting pediatric patients at Children's Hospital Medical Center of Cincinnati's Hematology/Oncology division at 9:30 a.m. Friday, June 8.
The Texas T-Cart crew consists of Randy and Diana Henderson of Frisco, Texas. Randy, the pilot, is an experienced flyer with a pilot license from the U.S. Air Force as a Captain, flying DC-3 freighter planes. He currently flies for Southwest Airlines and performs at air shows in his homebuilt Texas T-Cart. Diana operates as crew chief and air show announcer.
"We are excited about our visit to Cincinnati Children's," says Diana Henderson. "This gives us an opportunity to share our air show stories and provide hope to the pediatric patients who may want to be pilots some day."
Cincinnati Children's Hematology/Oncology division is distinguished in patient care, teaching and researching new ways to improve the health of patients. Sixteen full-time faculty members and two professors emeriti participate in the care and activities of the Blood and Marrow Transplant Center, Hemophilia Treatment Center, Pediatric Oncology Center, Sickle Cell Center and Comprehensive Immunodeficiency Clinic and Histiocytosis Program. In these centers, more than 2,500 children and adolescents are cared for annually. There are about 18,000 outpatient visits and 1,200 admissions to the service every year.
The Texas T-Cart crew, sponsored by Sporty's Pilot Shop, will be performing aerobatics at Blue Ash Airport Days June 9-10 between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. His performance includes the Texas Two-Step, Texas Turn and Texas Touchdown. Other weekend activities include airplane and helicopter rides, a car show and free concerts. All proceeds from this event benefit Cincinnati Children's.
