Cincinnati Children's Web Site Relaunch Features New Design and Content Management System

CINCINNATI -- Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center has relaunched its web site (http://www.cincinnatichildrens.org/default.htm) with an updated design based on Cincinnati Children's new visual identity and logo.

The new web site is more user-friendly. It features reorganization of content with improved navigation and search capabilities.

These features enhance the ability to inform and educate patients and families with on-line content. Visitors are able to quickly find the information they seek. The new functionality combined with Cincinnati Children's growing national reputation establish the web site as a leading pediatric health information resource for families and professionals.

"Our web site will play a key role in making information about our institution available to the public in our community and around the world," says James M. Anderson, president and chief executive officer of Cincinnati Children's. "By providing the means for us to keep our site continuously updated, the content management system is a foundation on which we will build a truly world-class site."

In addition to the new look and enhanced features, the web site is powered by an advanced content management system that allows individuals at Cincinnati Children's to create new web pages and make changes to existing pages. The result is information that is current and up-to-date.

The web site also will become an increasingly important tool for streamlining business and clinical processes, according to Arvind Kumar, vice president of eHealth, the department responsible for the new web site. "Implementing the web site is our first step in using the Internet to improve health care by fostering communication within and outside Cincinnati Children's," he says.

The web site includes more than 6,000 pages and is visited more than 130,000 times each month.
