Cincinnati Children's is Owner - Developer of the Year
CINCINNATI - Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center has received the Owner-Developer of the Year award by American Subcontractors Association (ASA) of Cincinnati.
The award is given to a company that owns property and takes an active role in developing the area. The award is given based on contract language, paid bills, providing a safe environment, and work ethics. Others receiving honorable mention in this area include Kentucky Speedway and Newport on the Levee.
Thomas Kinman, vice president of facilities management at Cincinnati Children's, accepted the award on behalf of the medical center saying, "It is an honor for Cincinnati Children's to be considered among other large development projects in our surrounding area. I was also happy to see that Messer Construction won General Contractor of the Year, and GBBN was named Architectural Firm of the Year. Each company is involved in most of our current development projects."
Cincinnati Children's has undertaken several recent projects on its area properties, including the construction of a new patient care tower (Location A) at its main campus in Avondale as well as the renovation of Cincinnati Children's - College Hill Campus on Hamilton Avenue and Cincinnati Children's - Oak Street Campus on Oak Street.
The American Subcontractors Association, Inc. (ASA) is a not-for-profit trade association representing subcontractors, specialty trade contractors, and suppliers in the construction industry. ASA serves over 7,000 member companies through a nationwide network of more than 75 state and local chapters. ASA of Cincinnati has been in existence since the early 1970s. The association meets the needs of a variety of members by holding monthly meetings and providing educational opportunities to its members.
