Cincinnati Children's Directory of Specialists
CINCINNATI – The 2005 Directory for Referring Physicians is now available through the Department of Marketing and Communications at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.
"For the first time, we've included a CD-Rom with each directory," says Bea Katz, senior communications associate, who edited the directory. "The CD-Rom offers a quick link to the Cincinnati Children's web site, where referring physicians can find updated information about newly hired faculty and specialists from each division of the medical center."
The hard copy of the directory includes a list of conditions treated, programs and services offered, locations, research emphases and highlights of each specialty at Cincinnati Children's. In addition, faculty and staff are listed alphabetically by division with their photos, contact information, credentials and areas of special interest.
Also offered is a list of support services for referring physicians. Support services currently offered by Cincinnati Children's include:
- Physician Priority Link – A 24-hour phone hotline dedicated to linking a referring physician with on call physicians or specialists and managers of patient service for direct admissions, consultation, referral resources, patient care follow-up resources, general information or special services.
- Generalist Inpatient Service – An optional service providing community pediatric and family practice physicians the opportunity to refer to a defined group of full-time faculty pediatricians at Cincinnati Children's.
- Diagnostic Clinic – A service that assists community physicians who wish to refer infants and children for consultation on diagnostic problems to Cincinnati Children's.
- Health Connections – A fully staffed after-hours health care advice service staffed by registered nurses who discuss symptoms and concerns with parents and offer recommendations.
- Medical Staff Services – A department that coordinates credentialing and / or privileging for more than 1,200 members of Cincinnati Children's staff. The department also offers orientation for new or returned members of the medical staff and provides verification information in response to requests from all third parties.
- Physician Services – Representatives of Cincinnati Children's who enhance communication between community-based physicians and medical center personnel, meet with community pediatricians, family practitioners and surgeons to enhance relationships, offer tours of the facility, arrange meetings with medical center staff, and assist in recruiting physicians for community practices.
The directory has been distributed to members of our medical staff and referring physicians in our region. Additional directories can be obtained by calling (513) 636-4420.
