Radiothon Patient Stories

During the annual Cincinnati Cares for Kids Radiothon, patients, families and staff share their experiences and talk about their journeys on-air. Learn about the amazing work taking place at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center by listening to these touching stories.

Ethan

Ethan was born with a hole in his diaphragm.

Abby

Abby, now 12, has been treated for autism at Cincinnati Children’s since age 3.

Amelia

Amelia was born with spina bifida, an opening in the spine. Her family moved to Cincinnati for care at Cincinnati Children’s.

Brody

Following a series of seizures after birth, Brody was diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

Dominique

After waiting for six years, Dominique had a successful liver transplant when she was 12.

Elena

Elena battled a rare, incurable brain tumor and passed away in August of 2007.

Jessica

In 2007, Jessica was diagnosed with her fourth recurrence of cancer.

Libby

Diagnosed at age 2 with leukemia, Libby bravely endured more than a year of intense chemotherapy.

Madeline

Now a healthy 8-year-old, Madeline suffered severe injuries in a car accident.

Max

Max has extensive visual and neurological issues as the result of a brain tumor.

Miah

Miah suffered a brachial plexus injury at birth. After four surgeries and physical therapy, Miah, 4, can now use her arm.

Reagan

Reagan, born prematurely with an intestinal disease, touched the hearts of many during her short life.
