United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) is a nonprofit, scientific and educational organization that administers the nation's only Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network, established by the US Congress in 1984. UNOS collects and manages data about every transplant event in the United States, facilitates the organ matching and placement process using UNOS-developed data technology and the UNOS Organ Center and brings together medical professionals, transplant recipients and donor families to develop organ transplantation policy.
The Joint Commission has had a long-standing commitment to providing meaningful information about the comparative performance of accredited organizations to the public. In 1994, the Joint Commission first published organization-specific performance reports. In 1996, "Quality Check," a directory of Joint Commission accredited organizations and performance reports, became available on the website.
As part of Quality Check, the Joint Commission compares hospitals' asthma care ratings against national benchmarks.
Each year, U.S. News & World Report produces a list of the best children's hospitals in the nation based on their specialities. Learn more about Cincinnati Children's high rankings and how we are one of the few children's hospitals to be placed on the U.S. News Honor Roll.
