Department of Radiology and Medical Imaging
Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center is a primary teaching affiliate for the University of Cincinnati’s College of Medicine and its Department of Radiology. We are one of the largest pediatric radiology facilities in the country, performing more than 200,000 imaging procedures each year. Our state-of-the-art equipment has been designed and adapted for the special imaging needs of children. Our physicians have pioneered techniques for obtaining accurate images with the lowest possible doses of radiation.
Radiologist-in-Chief Brian Coley, MD, leads a department of 50 clinical and research faculty members who have joint appointments with Cincinnati Children’s and the University of Cincinnati.
Research is one of the core missions of the Department of Radiology and Medical Imaging at Cincinnati Children’s. Innovative clinical research takes place alongside cutting-edge basic science in the department and the Imaging Research Center. In terms of peer-review publications, funding and faculty size, we are one of the most productive pediatric radiology departments in the United States.
Residents in the UC College of Medicine acquire their pediatric radiology training at Cincinnati Children’s, and our pediatric radiology fellowship program is recognized as one of the best in North America. Trainees are exposed to high-volume imaging centers, diverse patient populations, strong referral services and an extensive didactic curriculum. Our educational excellence attracts many international visitors and visiting fellows every year.
