Biography

Kaalan Johnson, MD is a clinical pediatric otolaryngologist with a research interest to develop a medical simulation program in the Division of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at Cincinnati Children’s. His work has focused on using medical simulation both for education and process improvement. This has included recent projects using simulation scenarios to test and improve complex systems such as the hospital’s critical airway response protocols. Educational endeavors using medical simulation include airway endoscopy, tonsillectomy, ear tube insertion, sinus surgery, team training in surgical scenarios, and incorporating simulation into a regional educational airway course for residents.
