Dr. Bailey chose Cincinnati for several reasons. First was the outstanding internal medicine and pediatrics program. Second was that even though the programs are top notch, there is no culture of intimidation. All of the faculty and residents are interested in people as individuals and want them to get the most out of their time here. Third is that at CCHMC they see a huge range of kids from general conditions to extremely rare syndromes that you won’t get to see anywhere else. Fourth is the dedication that the residents have to each other. Everyone is willing to go the extra mile to help out a fellow resident, which can be a life saver on busy days. Last is the program’s response to resident feedback and willingness to adapt to resident’s needs. All of these things make Cincinnati a great place to train.
