Cincinnati Children’s was a great fit for Dr. Beitzel for a variety of reasons. As an aspiring pediatrician, she wanted to ensure that she would be well-trained for whatever type of clinical medicine she would ultimately practice. As a region tertiary care referral center and the only children’s hospital in the greater Cincinnati area, she knew she would receive experience in rare and complex pediatric illnesses as well as very common pediatric conditions.
Location was also a consideration for Dr. Beitzel as she wanted to be close to family and friends in West Virginia, but yet be in a city that provided the best of the arts, sports and the outdoors.
Lastly and most importantly, she chose Cincinnati because of the fantastic people! From her first interaction on her interview day, she knew that she wanted to be a part of this program. The residents and leadership of the residency program are some of the warmest, most caring and smartest people she have ever met.
