Biography

Somer Bishop, PhD, is an assistant professor in the Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics at Cincinnati Children’s. She received her doctorate from the University of Michigan and completed post-doctoral training at the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Waisman Center.

Dr. Bishop's research has focused mainly on assessment and diagnosis of autism spectrum disorders (ASD), with a particular emphasis on differentiating symptom profiles in ASD from other developmental disorders. She is also interested in phenotypic characterization of and measurement of symptoms in individuals with ASD. Dr. Bishop’s current projects involve the development of screening tools with improved specificity that can be used to identify participants for large-scale research studies of ASD.
