Biography

Jerry R. Edens, MEd, RRT-NPS, has 17 years experience in the field of Respiratory Care. He has been empployed at Children's Hospital Medical Center of Cincinnati since 1991.

Since 1995, Jerry has been in a clinical education coordinator and is active in the profession on a state level. Jerry has held the offices of senior and junior representative of the Southern District of the state of Ohio, Neonatal Pediatric chair and is president-elect for 2001-2002.

In addition, Jerry established the Tri-state Alliance of Respiratory Care Practitioners. His is author and publish two newsletters: The Vital Capacity and The Pulmonary Circulation. He also authored a pamphlet,
When is Enough . . . Enough, a tool for the health care worker in dealing with death and dying with children.

Jerry is involved on many interdisciplinary task forces at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center and instituted "Respiratory Care Week" activities to recognize respiratory therapists at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. Jerry has also established the medical center's annual Bowl-A-Thon to raise money for charities.

Presently, he serves on the advisory board for Northern Kentucky University and the Cincinnati State College Respiratory Care programs.
