Biography

Karen Edwards, MD MPH, is currently an associate professor of clinical pediatrics and is director of training and director of the LEND (Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and related Disabilities) Program in the Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics at Cincinnati Children’s.

She received her university and medical school education at the University of Connecticut, completed her residency at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and completed her Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Fellowship at Yale University School of Medicine. She earned her master's in public health at New York Medical College. She is certified in pediatrics.

Prior to arriving at Cincinnati Children’s in 2010, she was on the faculty of New York Medical College for over twenty years, where her positions included: pediatric residency program director, associate dean for primary care, LEND program director, chair of the medical school curriculum sub-committee for the Clinical Years, and course director for the medical student introduction to clinical skills.

Dr. Edwards currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Association of University Centers on Disabilities. She is a member of the Academic Pediatric Association and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. In 2000, she received the Arnold P. Gold Foundation Humanism in Medicine Award and has received numerous awards for medical student and resident teaching.
