Abbey Riazzi, MSPAS, PA-C

I am a physician assistant who works in inpatient urology care. I help young patients who have congenital genitourinary anomalies, urinary tract infections and neurogenic bladder. I also work in onco-fertility, as a clinician and researcher.

Since childhood, I’ve wanted to work in healthcare and help take care of others. Physician assistant is a great profession that allows me to provide medical care to those in need. Cincinnati Children's has core values that align with my personal values, such as changing the outcome, being safer together and always treating others with respect.

I enjoy educating families so that they truly understand the pathology of their child's diagnosis and can be empowered to make the best decision for their child. I also think a large portion of patient care involves compassion, good bedside manner and communication with families. This helps them know their urology treatment team cares about them and is working to provide excellent care, every day.

In addition to helping patients, I’m involved in onco-fertility research. My colleagues and I are trying to find ways for young male patients to preserve fertility prior to receiving gonadotoxic therapies. This would provide better quality of life post-treatment and into adulthood.

I like to spend my free time outdoors, exploring nature, and going for runs and walks. I also enjoy spending time with my family.
