Biography

Dr. Grether is actively involved in local, state and national organizations for speech-language pathology and disability groups. She received Honors of Association (2007), the Elwood Chaney Outstanding Clinician Award (2009) and Fellow of the Association (2012) from the Ohio Speech-Language Hearing Association. She was honored in 2008 with the Service Award from the Arc of Hamilton County where she was a board member for her service on the Board/Executive Board for 9 years. In 2010, she was honored by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Foundation for Outstanding Clinical Achievement in Human Communication Sciences and Disorders. In 2012, she received her 12th ASHA Award for Continuing Education (ACE) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

Dr. Grether received the 2011 Textbook Excellence Award from the Text and Academic Authors Association for the chapter "Linking Communication and Literacy," written with Christina Yeager-Pelatti published in C. Carnahan & P. Williamson (Eds.) Quality literacy instruction for students with autism spectrum disorders. She is currently editor of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Perspectives on Augmentative and Alternative Communication. She teaches the both the basic and advanced Augmentative and Alternative Communication courses at the University of Cincinnati.
