Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist, Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

Barbara Heidt, RN, MSN is a psychiatric clinical nurse specialist who has been working with children and adolescents with behavior problems and psychiatric mental health disorders for over 30 years. Mrs. Heidt practices in the Pediatric Primary Care Center where she established a practice is to provide mental health services in a familiar environment with easy access to care. Mental health services in the primary care setting are provided in collaboration with the pediatricians and are family focused.
Mrs. Heidt has been adjunct faculty at the University of Cincinnati College of Nursing providing both lectures and clinical practicums for graduate nursing students in the area of child and adolescent psychiatry. She has also worked with the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine to provide clinical practicums for fourth year medical students. She was a member of the team responsible for the development of the evidence-based guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of ADHD.
