Kirsten Loftus, MD, was born and raised in Chicago, and was certain that she would stay there for residency because her whole family lives there. She has tons of friends there and she absolutely loves everything about the city. All that changed on her interview day here. She had met many great residents and seen many amazing programs on the interview trail, but there was just something about Cincinnati Children's that was special.
Everyone she met that day, from residents to program directors to the wonderful housestaff ladies seemed to so genuinely love this hospital and love each other, that Dr. Loftus left wanting to be a part of this program too. As cheesy as it sounds, she just got the feeling that she would really fit in here, and to her, that was more important that what city she was in. Plus, it didn’t hurt that everyone was so nice, and that the program has an amazing reputation! Even though she misses Chicago, she is so happy with her decision to come here!
