I appreciate the fact that we often meet families at a difficult time, and if I can help make their experience and their issues more manageable and less scary, then that is what I was placed in their lives to do.

About

Biography

I was inspired to be a nurse practitioner after working as a floor nurse for several years. I felt I could have a more significant impact if I could provide care to patients and their families and be part of the team that creates these care plans.

My career as a pediatric nurse began with patients who had airway conditions. I enjoyed working with this population and with the medical team that was caring for these patients. The group was always very caring and collaborative and made me feel like I was part of the team.

As a nurse practitioner, I care for otolaryngology (ear, nose, throat) and airway patients, including but not limited to tracheostomy patients. My care philosophy begins and ends with the patient. I believe caring for patients and their families and meeting their needs is why I chose this profession in the first place.

In my practice, we are a collaborative team that works well together for the greater good of patients and their families. I appreciate the fact that we often meet families at a difficult time, and if I can help make their experience and their issues more manageable and less scary, then that is what I was placed in their lives to do.

With my research, my colleagues and I are looking at tracheostomy tube issues along with their necessary supplies.

In my free time, I like to relax. I enjoy watching TV and movies and taking care of my dog.
