Biography

Wayne A. Mays is currently the Clinical Manager of the Cardiopulmonary Exercise Physiology Lab, the Electrophysiology Section and the Echocardiography lab at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.

A native of Ohio, Mr. Mays graduated from  the University of the State of New York in 1989 with a BS in Psychology. He is currently in the Masters of Science degree program from California University of Pennsylvania with a projected graduation date of July, 2009. Mr. Mays is a Registered Cardiopulmonary Technologist with registries in Non Invasive and Invasive cardiology.

Mr. Mays became the Clinical Manager of the Cardiopulmonary Exercise Physiology Lab and the Electrophysiology Section in 2002 and the Echocardiography Lab in 2009.

Mr. Mays’ academic interests relate to the evaluation of pediatric patients with congenital and acquire cardiopulmonary disease utilizing exercise testing. He has made numerous scholarly contributions in the field of ventricular function and cardiopulmonary responses to exercise utilizing exercise testing with and without additional interventions, such as echocardiography and radioisotopes.

Mr. Mays is a member of the American College of  Sports Medicine, North American Society for Pediatric Exercise Medicine, American Heart Association, Alliance of Cardiovascular Professionals (formerly NSCPT) and the American Association of Cardiovascular & Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
