Biography

Vanessa Olbrecht, MD, graduated as class valedictorian and Alpha Omega Alpha from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 2007 and received the William Stewart Halsted award in surgery. She completed her internship in Surgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital in 2008 before transitioning to her Anesthesia residency. She joined the staff at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital as an assistant professor in Anesthesia after finishing her Pediatric Anesthesia fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Dr. Olbrecht’s achievements include multiple research publications in major journals focused on clinical outcomes in both surgery and anesthesia. She has presented her work at local and national meetings and has won several awards for these presentations, including a Gertie Marx award.
