Kriti Puri, MD, decided to pursue science and medicine just after graduating high school. She was selected as one of the 35 students from all over India to attend the medical school at the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, South-East Asia’s premier medical center. During medical school, she continued to pursue her academic and extra-curricular literary interests in parallel, pursuing research projects in various divisions she rotated through, and also found intersecting avenues like medical debates and community education initiatives. She worked at length with patients of acute leukemias and Hodgkin lymphoma in pediatric oncology, screening methods for cervical cancer in preventative gynecologic oncology, pediatric type 1 diabetes in endocrinology and crescentic glomerulonephritis in pediatric nephrology.
Dr. Puri decided to pursue residency at Cincinnati Children's because of its golden combination of the highest strata of academia in a very facilitating, positive and upbeat environment. Here every effort is made to help the person achieve their maximum potential along with the joy and satisfaction of doing something worthwhile that is more than just a job to earn money.
Another unique aspect of Cincinnati Children's is the constant efforts to improve, and the consistent practice of analysis of performance and finding scope for further improvement. This helps it stay the dynamic and growing institute that it is. It also makes it incredibly easy to stay charged and motivated while one is at such an inspiring workplace.
