Sarah Vitolo, MSN, CNP

I knew from a young age that I wanted to work in a profession where I could help others, and my pediatrician’s warm, nurturing personality inspired me to work in the healthcare field. During my undergraduate program at The Ohio State University, I completed a clinical rotation at a children’s hospital. I knew from that point that I wanted to focus my practice in pediatrics.

Through my clinical and nursing experience, I quickly realized my passion lies in caring for patients with complex and challenging diagnoses. My ability to think about the big picture and piece together the impact of one system on another allows me to facilitate care and evaluations that address the whole child. Both the ear, nose and throat (ENT) and the aerodigestive programs let me use my skills and abilities to assist children and families in reaching their full potential.

As a nurse practitioner in the Division of Otolaryngology — Head and Neck Surgery, I focus on providing the best care possible for each child. I advocate for the best care for my patients and focus on improving their quality of life. What I enjoy most is being able to provide continuity of care for my patients and families.

In addition to my nurse practitioner role, I am also the educator for our nurse practitioner team. Using our standardized education, I ensure that new hires receive the necessary training and resources to develop into their new position.

I find interest in research that focuses on ways to improve patients' quality of life following airway reconstruction.

I love spending my free time with my husband and our two children. We like being outdoors hiking, biking, exploring different parks in Cincinnati and going to the lake. I also volunteer at the YMCA any chance I get.
