Biography
Susan Ryckman came to Cincinnati Children’s in 1985, as the Clinical Director of the Regional Center for Newborn Intensive Care. Susan then worked with the liver transplant programs at the University of Cincinnati and Cincinnati Children’s, and was on the faculty at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio until joining the cardiac program at Cincinnati Children’s in 1997. Susan is a member of the senior leadership team for the Heart Institute, and is responsible for strategic planning and oversight, as well as for patient services staff and operations throughout the inpatient, outpatient and clinical research areas of the Heart Institute.
Mrs. Ryckman graduated from Northern Illinois University with a BSN in 1977, and earned her MSN (Pediatric Nurse Practitioner specialty) from the University of Cincinnati in 1996. At Cincinnati Children’s she is extensively involved in clinical systems improvement work, and is committed to discovering innovative strategies for engaging patients and families in care delivery, and enhancing the care experience across the continuum.
Mrs. Ryckman is active civically, volunteering and serving with several health care, public service and community organizations. She was a 2009 recipient of the Jefferson Award for community service.
