What child life materials are available to patients?
The Child Life Department runs a number of activity centers on the floors where loads of materials are provided for kids. Depending on the age of the children in each unit, activity centers are equipped with arts and crafts, games, Nintendo" and computers, televisions, musical instruments, tumbling mats, trains, pretend food and dishes, dolls and more. A number of items are also available to those patients needing to remain in their beds.
All the items are there to help children feel at home and distract them from their medical surroundings. The activity centers are a fun place for children to go and play. They look forward to playing with the toys and games available to them.
Additionally, the department runs a number of programs for patients.
