Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center and the Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs have formed several groups and forums for our employees continual development.
Employee Resource Groups
These groups provide an opportunity for people with similar interests and / or characteristics to have a positive impact on Cincinnati Children's.
African American Professional Advisory Council (AAPAC)
AAPAC is an association for African American employees of Cincinnati Children's who are dedicated to the development and enhancement of work and community life. AAPAC helps cultivate, empower and advocate for African American employees of Cincinnati Children's and the community.
Gay Lesbian Bisexual Transgender Group and Allies (GLBTA)
GLBTA helps Cincinnati Children's foster a work environment where gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender employees can feel a sense of community within Cincinnati Children's. The group works to eliminate phobias, stereotyping and discrimination in the workplace by guiding employees to create a respectful and secure work environment.
Employee Activities Committee (EAC)
One of the ways we engage employees is through the Employee Activities Committee. The EAC coordinates activities, programs and services for employees and their families. EAC is based on the premise that by fostering good relations among employees, we are more effective with patients and their families. Some of the events that EAC sponsors are an ice cream social, a holiday meal in December, employee appreciation day at Coney Island Park and tickets to men's and women's professional tennis and other events.
50 Plus Group
The 50 Plus Group explores a variety of in-depth issues that impact employees 50 years and older. It helps us better understand ageism in the workplace and makes employees aware of and sensitive to the experiences of older employees inside and out of Cincinnati Children's.
IAAP
The International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) is a not-for-profit professional association with approximately 40,000 members and affiliates and nearly 600 chapters worldwide.
IAAP works in partnership with employers to promote professional excellence.
Veteran's Advisory Council
The Veteran's Advisory Council highlights the unique contributions of veterans. In addition, the council serves as an advisory group for hospital administration, the Department of Human Resources and the Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs on issues related to veterans and their families employed by Cincinnati Children's.
