Rheumatology Research
Advancing Through Multidisciplinary Research and Collaboration
The Division of Rheumatology strives to be a national and international leader in patient care, research and education in pediatric rheumatic diseases. We are home to several NIH-funded pediatric rheumatology centers and the Cincinnati Rheumatic Diseases Core Center. Research is an essential part of the mission of our division. We conduct basic science, translational and clinical research and continue to expand our research efforts. The Clinical Trials Unit within the Division of Rheumatology currently serves as the coordinating center of the Pediatric Rheumatology Collaborative Study Group (PRCSG), a group of pediatric rheumatology professionals dedicated to performing high-quality clinical research in pediatric rheumatic diseases.
Rheumatology research is interconnected with the Rheumatology Clinic, which provides diagnosis, education, treatment and follow-up for children with various rheumatic diseases. Many of our patients participate in our clinical research projects.
