In accordance with Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) guidelines, the two-year Child and Adolescent Psychiatry training at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center may be initiated immediately following or at any point beyond the PGY-1 level in the Psychiatry Residency sequence.

Traditionally, training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry has occurred in the PGY-4 and PGY-5 years.

To apply for the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Residency, you must download and submit an application form. Please include the following items with your application:

  • A current CV that includes months of years of educational training or employment experiences
  • A copy of your Medical School Transcript and Dean's letter
  • Reference letters from at least 3 faculty members you have worked with in your current residency program

Child and Adolescent Psychiatry residents are employees of Cincinnati Children's and enjoy the same pay and benefits as other Cincinnati Children's residents.

Additionally, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry residents are provided office space in the new Sabin Education Center Location D at Cincinnati Children's, with access to computers with their own email accounts, voice mail, secretarial support and the Division's reference library collection.

The Division of Psychiatry at Cincinnati Children's will accept applications for the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Residency Program from July 1 through October 31.
