- Patient encounters exceeded 1 million for the first time in fiscal 2009, including patients from 40 countries and 47 states
- Established partnerships with hospitals in China, Israel and Nigeria; continued existing collaborations with hospitals in Bosnia, China, England, India, Saudi Arabia and Mexico
- Hosted visits by hospital leaders from China, the Netherlands, Australia, United Kingdom, India, Ghana, Nigeria, Qatar, Israel and Saudi Arabia

Service to the Community
- In partnership with health care providers and community organizations, working to reduce the rate of infant mortality, prevent childhood injury, improve care for children with asthma and ADHD, reduce the rate of childhood obesity, and help newborns get a good start in life
- Invested over $10 million in outreach partnerships
- Cincinnati Children's operates the only Level I pediatric trauma center in Greater Cincinnati
- Our 24-hour drug and poison information hotline serves 20 Ohio counties and fielded over 158,000 calls in 2009

- Completed second implementation phase of Epic, a new system integrating clinical, research and business functions
- Emergency, inpatient, radiology, pharmacy, psychiatry, hematology/oncology, perioperative, and medical records areas are now part of an integrated electronic medical record
- Completed rigorous Epic Good Install Award requirements for revenue cycle implementation, returning $219,000 to the medical center
- Reorganized digital networks and implemented new password-protected access system to facilitate research and collaborations with the University of Cincinnati
