After Graduation

Where are our fellows today?

Past 9 years, 1996-2005

The fellowship has a cumulative rate of retention in academics of 20% over the past 9 years. There have been 19 graduates with 3 graduating in academic positions. Of the 6 recent graduating fellows who had basic laboratory research training, 3 remained in academics. One fellow who had clinical research training on a T32 grant and was enrolled in the master's degree program of Environmental Health and Molecular Epideminology (Sutton) joined a private practice in Cincinnati, where he is starting to implement the epidemiologic methods he has learned in setting up his own database and analyzing the allergy patient data.

The 8 fellows, who conducted mostly clinical research, and the 3 who had conducted laboratory research but did not stay in academics, joined private practices in the following states: Maryland (Nashed), Florida (Miller and Alibrahim), Pennsylvania (Lepore), California (Rudito and Scribner), Texas (Patel), Indiana (J. White), Ohio (E. White, Karnani, Bobbitt and Bagenstose, the latter two took over their father's allergy / immunology practices).
