Applying to the Allergy / Immunology Fellowship

Applicants must have an MD or DO degree and be board eligible or certified by the American Board of Pediatrics or the American Board of Internal Medicine. If you need further help regarding our application process, please contact Amal H. Assa'ad, MD for pediatrics at kathy.evans@cchmc.org, or David I. Bernstein, MD for internal medicine at grabers@ucmail.uc.edu.

Application Process

For positions starting July 1, 2010, the program is using the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). ERAS opens for applicants on December 1, 2008. Applications and supporting information is available online.

Candidates are evaluated based on their record and potential as academic clinicians, researchers, educators, and their interpersonal skills. We anticipate offering 2 positions on the Pediatric track and 2 positions on the Internal Medicine track. We will use the Medical Specialty Match Service (MSMS), operated by the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).

Interviews will be conducted in January and February of 2009. The interview process includes a brief oral presentation by the candidate.   The talk should describe a previous research experience or an analysis of an interesting case and be no more than 10 slides and 15 minutes long. This allows the candidate a unique opportunity to demonstrate their critical thinking, professionalism and academic interests. The Faculty are looking forward to meeting and getting to know the candidates through the interview and presentation process.

It is our continuing policy to afford full equal employment opportunity to qualified employees and applicants, regardless of their race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, physical or mental handicaps, military or veteran status, sexual preference, or any other protected condition or characteristic in conformity with all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
