Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is a nationally-recognized leader in pediatric health care. We currently rank among the top two pediatric medical centers in NIH funding, and we have been named in the top five children's hospitals by Child magazine. Some of our highlights include:
- Free standing, 475-bed institution providing care to neonates, infants, children, adolescents and adults with pediatric diseases
- Highest volume pediatric surgical hospital in the United States, performing over 32,000 anesthetics and 12,000 consults annually
- 28 state-of-the-art operating suites located in on our main campus and three operating suites at Cincinnati Children's Mason Campus. An eight operating room facility will open in August 2008 at Cincinnati Children's Liberty Campus
- 39 pediatric anesthesiologists, many board-certified in both pediatrics and anesthesiology, or anesthesiology and pain management
- All pediatric surgical specialties are well represented, including: 750 cardiac cases; 100 craniofacial reconstructions; 60 transplants (cardiac, renal, liver, and small bowel); 500 neonatal surgical emergencies; and 300 spine surgeries, 120 fetal surgeries, 500 neurosurgeries annually
