Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship Overview and Application
The Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is designed to provide strong clinical and training opportunities to physicians planning a career in academic medicine.

Clinical Highlights
- Cincinnati Children's Echocardiography Lab with state-of-the-art imaging equipment including transthoracic, transesophageal, fetal, stress and intravascular ultrasound imaging
- The Cardiac Catheterization and Intervention Program, with a national reputation for excellence in pediatric diagnostic and interventional procedures and on-going clinical trials
- The Electrophysiology Program with comprehensive noninvasive and invasive pediatric monitoring; currently involved in several multi-center pediatric catheter ablation trials
- The only Cardiac Intensive Care Unit in a five-state region with a high volume of specialized and complex cases treated by a faculty double-boarded in pediatric cardiology and pediatric intensive care
Research Opportunities
Cardiology Fellows also have the opportunity to advance pediatric cardiovascular medicine through clinical and laboratory research. With access to programs throughout the University of Cincinnati, from basic research to subspecialties to interdisciplinary investigation, fellows spend 12 to 15 of their 36 months on research training.
An active collaboration between the divisions of Pediatric Cardiology and Molecular Cardiovascular Biology provides a unique opportunity for fellows to further their understanding of cardiac malformations. A National Institutes of Health training grant allow the two divisions to offer a fourth year of research training to promising trainees with serious molecular research interests.
