Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is a 475-bed facility devoted to all levels of care. It is considered a premier center for pediatric care within Cincinnati the surrounding region and world. There are over 25,000 inpatient admissions annually.

Cincinnati Children's is affiliated with the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. The medical center library and other facilities are located directly across the street from Cincinnati Children's and are open to the medical center staff.

The Mayerson Center for Safe and Healthy Children at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is committed to fighting and preventing child abuse and neglect. It combines the many activities at Cincinnati Children's that focus on child abuse into one coordinated effort.

The Mayerson Center staff evaluates, treats and prevents child maltreatment. The staff consists of police and sheriff officers, Department of Jobs and Family Services workers and a victim advocate from the Hamilton County prosecutor's office, along with Cincinnati Children's staff of physicians, nurses and social workers. It collaborates and expedites the diagnosis and investigation of child abuse allegations. Mandated agencies throughout the region can also utilize the center and its resources.

The combined efforts within the Mayerson Center include state-of-the-art diagnostic, treatment, prevention and training programs and cutting-edge research in the field of child sexual abuse, child physical abuse, and child neglect.

The Advocacy Center at Children's Hospital Medical Center of Cincinnati's Mayerson Center provides a child-friendly setting that is warm and inviting. The 7,200 square foot facility includes a large playroom as well as rooms for individual and group therapy, medical exams, and forensic interviews and observations.

The center is open to all children in the multi-county area surrounding Cincinnati who are suspected or alleged victims of child abuse. Its mission is to be the national leader and resource in the development and validation of best practices for the evaluation, treatment and prevention of child maltreatment.
