Human Genetics

Overview

The Human Genetics Program at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is the largest pediatric genetics program in the nation. However, the Human Genetics Program also offers high-level care to adults through the Connective Tissue Clinic, Prenatal Program, and Hereditary Cancer Program.

The Human Genetics Division at Cincinnati Children's is approved by the American Board of Medical Genetics to provide fellowship training opportunities in clinical genetics, biochemical genetics, molecular genetics, and clinical cytogenetics.

The Human Genetics Division is also approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education for residency training in medical genetics.

Fellowship / Residency Opportunities

Both the two-year residency or three-year fellowship programs at Cincinnati Children's emphasize comprehensive training in all areas of human genetics, including a thorough clinical training, in addition to several opportunities for involvement in laboratory research.

The Cincinnati Children's Genetics Residency / Fellowship Program offers opportunities to see many common and rare disorders. Clinical training emphasizes participation in the general genetics clinics as well as subspecialty genetics clinics including:
